I believe in the philosophy of do-it-yourselves. It gives me a great sense of achievement and allows me to express my creative visions! What’s there not to love?

Handmade may not be a very popular notion in Singapore. I know because when I started selling handmade items back in 2004-2006, most people are just not getting the idea. Handmade=very free so make something to sell, cheap, useless stuffs.

Not anymore. The handmade trend is a fast growing trend with scrap-booking being the most popular nowadays. There’s also needle craft, knitting ( I started learning to knit when I was 15, I made a sweater!), crochet, dress-making, soap-making, candle-making etc. This do it yourself trend also extends it’s arms to the way we treat food. We prefer home-grown, organic foods, and the notion of planting your own herbs. Homemade or home-bake products are gaining more support as we can now quantify its added-value-ness (the love, the techniques, the organic ingredients, the uniqueness it has over general consumer goods).

I believe in a DIY, handmade wedding as it gives me a great opportunity to express my ideas for this special day.

SO stay tuned for more ideas that will inspire you!
